Look. Mice and rats on public transport are not a good thing. theyre pests. but this little guy and his family live on the northbound northern line platform at King's Cross! And I mean little.

Every time I go home via Kings Cross, I always walk up to the top end of the platform and see a mouse or two running about. They usually hide in the electrical cupboards once a train rolls into the platforms- so small they can squeeze under the gap beneath the door.

It amazes me that London has these teeny tiny little mice that are almost cute, and our yankee cousin, NYC, have mutant rats on the subway 😭

  1. Tube mice are good luck. If you see a tube mouse it means you’re going to have a good day.

  2. Every time I see a rat in a tube station I think of Mieville’s *King Rat.*

  3. Tube mice always make my day if I see them. So smol and cute

  4. They should really be living in a field and not eating dropped McDonald’s fries. Humans are the rats really and wildlife adapts to are destruction

  5. Whenever I see them I think of Gary Numan’s Tubeway Army and think of them as the Tube Mice Army.

  6. Tube mouse, I love you so. I put you in my pocket and I brought you home

  7. I returned to Australia in 2007 after 6 years in London. I loved seeing these little mice run around. Nice to see they are still there.

  8. The tube mouse is a sign of a night well spent. Your platform companion as the world spins drunkenly around you.

  9. Surprised we don’t hear more about them chewing through cabling.

  10. I am sure I read somewhere that the tube mice in each station are slightly genetically different, meaning they don’t go down the tunnels and interbreed at all.
