I remember way back in the mid-to-late-90s when the issue of which toilets a transwoman would use came up at Edinburgh Uni student association. The conversation went pretty much like this:
“[male name] is now a woman and uses [female name]”
“Oh, okay.”
“So which toilets does [female name] use then?”
*thirty seconds of thinking*
“Well, [female name] is a woman so I guess she uses the women’s toilets”
“Aye, that makes sense”
And that was that. Thirty fucking years ago and it was all sorted out with nae bother. So why the actual fuck has society regressed back to this transphobic nightmare?
