What use does God have for a question?
God’s way of saying, ‘You got some splain’ to do Lucy’
The bible commands us to be good stewards of the Earth. We are the planet’s caretaker, not owner. Try bringing that up at an A.P.I. meeting. 🤣
Lol..tax the churches. Dinglenuts.
We failed in our stewardship
It’s a nice sentiment, and good on the Pope, and the previous Pope for this. Though if we want people to truly care for the earth, perhaps it’s not ideal to be using a religion that sees the earth as being of temporary and secondary importance and a realm and being outside of it as being of ultimate importance. You can try to argue that Christians should care more about the environment based on scripture but how much success that will bring isn’t necessarily clear. A belief system that makes the earth and its beings centrally important would be naturally more likely to lead to good outcomes for the earth.
“We managed not to wipe out *all* the megafauna. But we did dig up and burn millions of years worth of sequestered sunlight then act surprised when it made the planet warmer.”
