Finland wants to deport Wolt courier for “earning too much”

  1. Don’t earn too much money in Finland, unless you are a politician.

Then you can get away with it.

  2. Only skimmed the article but the issue is less that the guy in question earns too much and more that there is doubt that he earns the money solely the way he claims he does and there is the suspicion the money has been earned ilegally, through non-food-delivery means. Which… doesn’t seem too far off? Seems like something that understandably raises questions…

  3. I have an idea that there’d be less issues if he was white, not called Muhammed, and from the U.K./Canada/USA etc. but still making the same money from the same job.

Already excited for my downvotes for yet another case of Finnish organisations treating people badly for not being born Finnish but still wanting to be here :’)

  4. His taxes pay the lazy native’s “kuntoutusraha”.

Sad but true. I married into this society and since I love my husband, I have to suffer with teeth clenched, the fact that I was not born in Finland, brown-skinned and even though I integrated and speak Finnish fluently, I am always going to be this second grade citizen that some lazy ass person who is so angry at me being in their beautiful country. Ironically those racists probably enjoy some of the taxes I am paying. Sucks, sucks.

I can not wait to move away from here.

That guy seem to be hardworking. He should move somewhere else, somewhere he will be appreciated.

  5. I think they might suspect he hired someone extra to do the job under the table. They should have done a proper investigation though.

  6. I hope he wins his appeal. It’s total bullshit to reject such an important application based on one agency’s estimation without even investigating it. It’s hard enough to get a job here as an immigrant without also having to worry about high earners being blindly thrown out.

  7. For four years he has worked hard, gaining a masters degree and then working 12 hours a day to meet the requirements. He has made huge sacrifices and moved half way across the world to create a future for his family. He has chosen the great country of Finland to come to and sees it as a great place for his children. His drive, his commitment to the people he loves, his sheer sisu, are fantastic. Any family having him as part of it would be proud.

Again this sub seems to take as its starting point that the authority must have it’s reasons. To someone like me, very familiar with Finland and new to living here permanently, it is blindingly obvious that race is the determining factor here – it is hard to envisage this happening to a white person. It seems to me that the system needs an overhaul and that ‘suspicions’ are prevented from determining the outcome. Wolt have said that the earnings are within what is possible – that, combined with the actual pay records, should be enough.

Is there any way to show support for this man?
