A Syracuse educator fed up with the two-party system and the nation’s polarized politics plans to launch a longshot campaign today for the 22nd Congressional District seat in Central New York.

Will Staton, 38, of Hampshire Road, said he will seek to run as an independent candidate in the 2026 election against Rep. John Mannion, D-Geddes, and the yet-to-be-determined Republican nominee.
