China Is Building The Solar Future Because Trump Refuses. As a result of massive Chinese supply, the cost of generating electricity from solar has now fallen to a global average of around $0.04 per kilowatt hour—making it the cheapest energy source in history.

  1. Other countries can join China and lower the costs of energy and manufacturing. with solar too. They are desperately afraid of all the new evidence coming out that destroys the false narrative of fossil fuels being cheaper or even relevant…

NEW ANALYSIS | Spain is successfully decoupling electricity prices from gas power costs

Spain reduced the number of hours where electricity prices exceed gas costs by 75% since 2019.

As a result, Spain’s electricity prices were 32% lower than the EU average in H1-2025.

  2. What do you mean because trump refuses… why everything has to be about Trump…

  3. Also prices of electricity in US are rising making solar more profitable quicker

  4. Ngl I’m tired of posts that all involve variations on how Trump is ruining America. We know already, boss…

  5. Even with the ‘green energy is a hoax’ rhetoric, Republican states such as Texas and Florida are **building solar at a record pace**, perhaps surpassing California in the future.

Republican states such as Oklahoma, Kansas, South Dakota, Iowa, Wyoming, etc., are also building **wind generated energy**.

Texas has expansive wind farms and is a major national leader in total wind power capacity. Texas has proactively built transmission lines to support its wind growth.

Stop letting old money fossils from getting in the way. Out with the old, in with the new.

Lots of money to be made with green energy.

  6. I guess Trymp and the fossil fuel gang didn’t get the memo.

  7. LCOE for solar expected to fall even further over the next 1-2 decades, though probably not as dramatically as it has just because it’s already so cheap. Crazy to consider, and likely further aided by BESS.

  8. Let’s be very clear here. Trump isn’t trying to do anything for the U.S.; he is actively trying to destroy the U.S. while accumulating more wealth and power. All these negative things he is doing are so obviously negative that even he should realize it. If he isn’t stopped almost immediately our society is doomed and almost every other country will be more advanced and civilized than us.

  9. Trump was put in charge to destroy america and leave them far behind financially, politically and with science.

He is succeeding. Americas enemies are winning.

  10. If we want AI and data centers to flourish in the US, we need to get as many people as self-sufficient as possible, which means putting solar and micro-wind everywhere. Every rooftop, parking garage, and south facing building surface should be generating power. The only way we make progress is to go full into renewables everywhere.

I have a kid at MSU. The took all of the parking lots on the west side of campus and put up solar panels. They shield cars from sun and weather and generate close to 6% of the power needs for campus on average, peaking up to 18% during sunny clear days.

Spot generation for homes and buildings is an essential part of our energy future.

  11. Remember here that the number one argument from the right that the US shouldn’t work on lowering emissions because China is worse.

  12. And we need to ignore idiots and private enterprise can excel in controlling solar.

  13. Meanwhile in my neck of the woods I got a letter from PSEG that stated my rates are going up ! Thank you tangerine man for lowering my rates! So much better

  14. It’s a fatalist approach because they’re older folks tied to the way things have been. Trump himself only ever cares about what directly affects him, which is what it is, but it’s the folks in his ear that are the real issue.

  15. How do I get some of these 4¢/kwh panels? It’s close to $2.50 installed here.

  16. China is building its renewables because it’s the future, not because of Trump.

  17. Or we are redirecting energy to AI datacenters? Sadly that is in the form of natural gas but solar and wind won’t be a great short term solution

  18. It’s great how much of a push Trump is giving China

  19. It’s a fact that without China’s investments in solar panels, they wouldn’t have become so inexpensive.

If it were left to the western private sector, where profit maximisation is the primary goal, solar panels would be much more expensive and completely inaccessible to developing nations.

And of course, the current climate goals would be impossible.

Just to balance things out, I’m not going to whitewash China’s co2 emissions in recent decades. Cumulatively, China is the third largest emitter of co2 after the U.S. and Europe.

And now that China is finally transitioning from “developing country,” to “developed,” I hope to see China do more to help less developed nations with their energy needs.

While I don’t expect China to give solar panels out for free and they don’t, they have provided extremely low interest rate loans for some nations and deferred payments schemes for renewable infrastructure. I hope to see more of this.

And before you say it, the debt trap theory has been debunked. Check out Chatham House’s report, “Debunking the Myth of Debt Trap Diplomacy,” study.

  20. Generating energy from that which is freely given is cheaper. Who knew?

  21. Not sure which is worse when it comes to the Orange Menace: Corruptability or Idiocy? Both benefit China at America’s expense. Of course, the climate benefits because of China’s ability to think long term. Trump is lost on whatever stupid impulse hits him between Big Macs.

  22. Hahaha. The U.S. could have been the leader in this area. But now that China has taken the lead all these countries that don’t want to install large power infrastructures to residents will just go to China for panels and batteries and every little village will have power. And China will get a cut each time they buy the equipment.

  23. I remember the days when right-wing thinkers existed. We now have right-wing liars.

Grown adult men going around with bad information, doing the bidding of the worst our society has to offer.

  24. The US returning to coal & abandoning solar is a favor Trump is returning to China for Ivanka receiving a lot of Chinese patents his 1st term.

It’s a club…and you all ain’t in it. Remember that.

  25. Our politicians are controlled by corporate money. Big Oil is number one.

  26. It’s not just energy. China is building everything we used to dream about. Vast cities, high-speed rail, deep sea and space exploration, quantum computing, and much more. Wouldn’t it be nice if we had leadership with a vision of our potential future?

  27. In the way the Saudis and other gulf states are infinitely wealthy because of Oil, China will in time be the same way due to solar and renewables.

This could’ve been the USA had it not been for right wing corruption and lack of education of the median American voter.

  28. Plants figured out how to use the most abundant source of energy 500 million years before man crawled out of the “soup”, they also learned to use the second most abundant source to reproduce, wind. They became so efficient they did not have to move. Their depleting of CO2 created the atmosphere we need to breathe. We rather eat them or something that eats them. The so called fossil fuels we use are the remains of their ancestors. Seems like some of us are trying to catch up to plants, and some of us are stupid.

  29. Investment in a long term losing strategy, because some short term ding dong says you should, is not going to divert $$$ to the losing strategy.

This is a good time to buy land for solar and wind production, as current land owners may be exposed to other risks from the orange dummy. There are probably plenty of land owners who may have the necessity to sell. Cheaper materials for solar and wind is a plus when it’s time to build out. It would be nice if it came from America, but it’s not required.

Utilities are planning for the time after these twits are out of power.

  30. No thanks! Here in the US, we have coal. The energy source of the future! /s
