Princess Beatrice’s savage move towards her father, Prince Andrew, has been unveiled in Amazon’s drama, A Very Royal Scandal. The historical drama, released in September 2024, depicts what happened on the Duke of York’s eldest daughter’s wedding day on July 17 2020.

In a bold move, Beatrice asks her father to step to the side while her wedding photos are being taken. The official snaps of Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, only showed the newlyweds, the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, and the drama suggests how these images without Prince Andrew came to be.

In the show, Beatrice, portrayed by Honor Swinton Byrne, can be seen posing with her husband, depicted by Giulio Cavazzini as they stand outside of the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor. Beatrice’s parents, Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, played by Michael Sheen and Claire Rushbrook, initially posed next to their daughter before she asked her father to step aside.

Beatrice said in the show: “Daddy, would you mind stepping aside just for this next? We’re going to take an official picture with Granny and Grandpa. Is that alright?”

Andrew replied: “No, no, no. Ab… absolutely.”

Beatrice then said: “Great.”

The Duke of York is then seen walking away to melancholic music.

The three-part drama is based on the Duke of York’s infamous car crash interview with BBC Newsnight in 2019 where he spoke candidly with Emily Maitlis about his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The 65-year-old was stripped of his royal duties, as well as his military affiliations and HRH title in 2022, by his late mother, Queen Elizabeth.

During the Newsnight interview, Andrew also firmly denied having sex with then 17-year-old Virginia Giuffre.

The prince subsequently paid a financial settlement to Ms Giuffre, formally ending a civil case brought against him in the US.

The out-of-court settlement accepted no liability and the prince has always strongly rejected claims of wrongdoing.

Despite divorcing his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson in 1996, the pair still reside together in their Royal Lodge home in Windsor.

However, there is said to have been multiple attempts from King Charles to get the Yorks out of the royal property amid the controversies surrounding them in recent years.

Their latest scandal came after an apology email sent to Jeffrey Epstein from Sarah Ferguson was unveiled last month.

The Duchess of York had emailed the late convicted paedophile in 2011 after he was released from prison for child sex offences. In her message to him, she apologised to Epstein, whom she deemed a ‘supreme friend’ after she disowned him in the media.

Fergie has since faced an intense PR crisis as a result with various charities dropping her as patron.
