  1. quitting so a trump loyalist can take the position that will sure show them…

  2. He knows that America is now a fascist country. He knows that Trump will cancel the 2028 election.

  3. We need him to stand up and lead, not shy away from the hardest challenge

  4. Quitting is a terrible choice! It just puts loyalists in that position!!!!!

  5. He didn’t quit. He just retired. So he still gets full benefits. And it’s not even validated that it had anything to do with the speech. The article says that exactly:

*While Bussiere didn’t reference the gathering directly, his retirement came immediately on the heels of Hegseth’s closed-door meeting with top brass in Virginia—a meeting that’s already making waves inside military circles.*

He’s also 62 which is also right at maximum retirement age.

  6. Quitting is stupid as fuck if you actually cared about this

  7. Quit AFTER the speech or BECAUSE of the speech?

The American military is huge and I’m guessing Generals retire all the time.

I hate Hegseth as much as the next guy but facts still matter to me. Is this clickbait?

  8. Quitting rather than upholding an oath of office? It’s just what they want.

  9. We need them to stay and perform a mutiny… wtf would you quit for!?

  10. I didn’t understand why all of these people in the government are just quitting when told to do something they didn’t like….. They are the ones who should stay and defy.

  11. We really need more Generals to retire to send a message that the military is independent not loyal to a fascist.

  12. Would not shock me if they all quit after that bullshit.

  13. leaders With a moral compass and dedication to the Constitution quitting is the last thing we need.

  14. I was hoping they would stay and hold the line.

  15. Stay in!! Fuck. This is how he gains control of our military.

  16. Upvote farming. He retired, he didn’t quit out of protest.

  17. The stench was to much, thank you for your dedication and service General.

  18. I really hope the good ones stay if only to keep the bad ones from filling their spots. Though at 62, I’d want to retire at some point too.

  19. 11B from 6-9 then went psyop in the reserves till 14’

Don’t get all the hate for the clear observations of the military’s autocratic nature lol.

“If someone is a good soldier and can lead troops they wear stripes.

If someone is a good commander and can lead admin, they wear birds.

It takes a politician to wear the star”

Yeah duh he’ll be replaced by a “loyalist” that’s just “generally” what a “general” is. It sucks we won’t see much of the hero’s and big statements we wish were coming from them but their response to the speech was pretty tasty enough. For a room full of people wearing stars.

  20. Generals should start talking to blue state governors about defederalizing their national guards. Turn them into state guards.
