Well, I know where I’ll be throwing my rubbish today.
low hanging fruit to try and boost arrest stats, instead of investigating a difficult case
Meanwhile most of the roads in the county are like cart tracks because of the sheer number of potholes on them. General waste is collected every 3 weeks now.
Sounds like she tried to do the right thing but FCC have an incredibly narrow list of what you can actually put in a public bin.
Is it just me that’s wondering if there’s maybe a bit more to this story?
“Crime officers” = yearly pay overtime/bonuses, holidays, pension, sick, days, car use etc. Our local Authorities live to piss our taxes against the wall on stuff like this.
I suspect there’s an allegation she dumped her whole rubbish into a public bin.
> On its website, Flintshire Council states that, under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, it is an offence to dispose of household or business waste in public litter bins.
> It adds: “Public litter bins are provided only for waste produced when you’re out and about, and bagged dog waste.
> “They should not be used for disposing of domestic or business waste. In town centres, these bins are emptied 2 to 3 times per day, and regularly in other areas.
I have questions…
1. What counts as ‘household’? I mean, technically anything in our possession could be considered ‘household’ waste. And as for ‘waste produced when out and about’, well she had been ‘out and about’ when collecting her package so it was waste generated outside of her home.
2. My business involves dog walking. Does that mean I’m technically fly-tipping? (the answer is no, Flintshire council it does not). My licensing council is fine with us putting dog waste generated through our work into these bins.
Maybe FCC needs to put some notices on these bins. And a decent solicitor could get this thrown out in an instant I’m sure.
Seems like FCC needs to lower their curtain-twitching stance on bins. And provide more bins if
> these bins are emptied 2 to 3 times per day, and regularly in other areas
– because it is obviously not enough.
Never judge a story until you’ve heard both sides.
Motorhome owners that spend the night in the local car park by me are forever doing this with big black bags of unsorted rubbish. I doubt any of them have ever been prosecuted for it
Jesus fuck Wales, wtf is wrong with your councils, I’d suggest someone introduce them to sex, drugs and whatever music takes their fancy, really quickly.
What a waste of council and police resources 🤦♀️ dew dew
