And this is why we can’t have nice things
Scumbags
I thought it was only phones and bikes, so you can also rob cafes now without consequences? Well done, met police. S/
Met police are far too busy arresting people holding signs.
i go to this cafe all the time on my way to and back from the allotment. It is the only decent cafe in that area.
Looks like a nice cafe as well. What a shame that people can’t respect this persons business.
Don’t worry, the met are drawing up a revolutionary plan. If your business is closed for longer than two hours, burglaries from such establishments will be decriminalised.
Where are all the ‘London has never been safer’ brigade.. it’s never been safer because police have stopped doing anything and registering all ‘low level’ crimes …
This breaks my heart on a level I can’t even fathom. The amount of passion and work that goes into running your own business and trying to operate at any kind of profit in this climate is already mounting on impossible, but to add these bottom feeding scrotes to the reasons why you are being defeated, and then FURTHER no support from police is just too much.
Fuck me I fucking hate what this country has become. We could be living in a golden age if the people at the top and the people at the bottom weren’t such fucking horse shit.
We’ve allowed politicians in this country to convince us that prison is expensive, when it isn’t. Crime is expensive. It costs about £100/day to keep a prisoner, whereas a professional thief can easily cause many multiples of this per day in damage.
Meanwhile, the mayor gives an interview saying that if he saw someone shoplifting he’d pay for the stolen goods himself, propagating the lie that any meaningful proportion of thieves are stealing out of poverty rather than doing it as a career
Wait what
>Ms Morgan installed some costly security cameras, smoke bombs, shock sensors, and outdoor sensors which all alerted police – and momentarily halted the burglaries. However, the cameras were eventually disarmed and within 24 hours someone attempted to break in again.
50 times…that must be soul-destroying. 😐
If we had a functioning police force they’d actually respond timely to incidents like this and stop them
Instead they want to use all their resources arresting your gran holding a placard
I’ll get there next time I’m in dulwich
As gentle as the British public like to be all the places that don’t have this sort of thing happen have serious consequences for offenders. That’s a big difference.
Someone really wants that pitch.
Awful place. Too much pandering to not hurt the feelings of violent criminals but they can abuse everyone’s rights relentlessly
I have gone from around twenty entrepreneur friends to zero in ten years. Most of them have moved their businesses abroad, those who are still in the UK are unemployed and hunting for a job (with no luck)
Will we see a rise in vigilantism to exact justice, if public services continue to be cut? At what point does a community “snap” and takes matters into their own hands? I wonder if this is where we’d headed in the 2030s.
Who knew people really wanted to steal ice creams
The same sort of people who say, “If you see a shoplifter, no you didn’t.” and, “I’m not hurting anyone, it’s all insured.”
