Geðbrigði have been announced as the Icelandic representatives for Pan-ArcticVision 2025 in Iqaluit, Nunavut.

Músíktilrauna reports that the band Geðbrigði have been chosen to represent Iceland at this year’s edition of Pan-ArcticVision. Geðbrigði were the winner of Músíktilrauna 2025, where they competed against nine other acts from across Iceland for the votes of a jury and telephone vote.

Geðbrigði is formed of Þórhildur Helga Pálsdóttir singer, Ásthildur Emma Ingileifardóttir bassist, Agnes Ósk Ægisdóttir guitarist, Hraun Sigurgeirs drummer. The band was formed in May 2023, their music is described as “raw experimental heavy punk”.

Pan-ArcticVision 2025

The third edition of Pan-ArcticVision will be held on November 29 in Iqaluit, Nunavut. To date, two acts have been announced for the competition:

Pan-ArcticVision is loosely based on the Eurovision Song Contest and was first held in 2023. The contest aims to bring together the peoples of the Arctic. All of the artists competing in the contest were chosen by cultural organisations across the Arctic.

Three categories are awarded prizes in each edition:

The most Arctic song
The song that gives the most feeling of community and togetherness
The most revolutionary song
