Hamas says it agrees to release all Israeli hostages under Trump Gaza plan

1. Just to clarify, they have other details they want to negotiate first, but they are saying that if their demands are met, they agree to the terms for the release of hostages as laid out in Trump’s proposal.

   IDK what they are going to negotiate. The entire world, except for them, their supporters and parts of reddit know they need to surrender and be out of power for lasting peace

4. At its core, Hamas sidestepped the central question in the cease-fire proposal: disarmament. By refusing to address the issue that determines its very survival, the group effectively left the deal’s most important obstacle unresolved.

   For that reason, Washington and Jerusalem should interpret Hamas’ response less as an acceptance than as a de facto rejection of the Trump plan.

6. With these types of headlines, I think the media is giving hamas exactly what they want.

   They “agreed” only in theory, there’s like a 100 “but…” In their agreement, so saying that they agreed to trump’s peace plan is a little bit of a stretch.

8. Folks in this topic apparently think we’re going to get a peace deal in one day. Of course we won’t, why are you guys being so naive. But Hamas has conceded a willingness to release the hostages and also accede to some extent to an international governing authority. Those are both very important parts of the peace process which increases my optimism that this may finally get resolved–and hopefully for good this time.
