  1. Lol Trump will be all by himself at the end of the day

No one likes the orange man.

  2. Unfortunately, it will be the best of the best that retire early. Those that have been getting along by getting along will then unfortunately get promoted in the best of the best’s places.

  3. I wonder if this is connected with the recent Seal Team 6 fiasco in North Korea.

  4. Trump is winning

This is bad for the rest of us

  5. He didn’t quit or resign. He’s retiring at age 60 after nearly 40 years of service since commissioned in 1987 as an infantry officer. That’s nearly double the 20 years required for full lifetime benefits.

Edit: and the article is painted a specific way to push a narrative. It even says:

*”Even if Fenton was preparing to retire, the exact moment he chose to announce it couldn’t be more politically charged”.*

  6. Retiring in protest just leaves yes men. They should be buckling up for the ride, they are in a unique position to help, if they abandon us now, what did they do it all for?

  7. It’s heartening that some real patriots still exist. Would be better if they organize

  8. Look, I’m not gonna say they are wrong and I have zero clue what I would do in their position BUUUUT it seems really fucking pussy of them to quit when they can most likely order a unit of troops to assemble and secure the White House if shit gets really sideways.

  9. I normally wouldn’t say this of a lifelong service member, but coward. Really when your country needs you to step up the most you’re going to walk away

  10. What’s the logic in quitting as opposed to staying and causing trouble?

  11. From the article: “USSOCOM, based out of MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, is the nerve center for America’s elite special operations forces—coordinating Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, Air Force Special Tactics teams, and Marine Raiders. Its mission: to wage war against state and non-state threats around the world, often under the radar.”

Makes me wonder if General Fenton was ordered to do something domestically and refuses to be involved.

  12. To be replaced by a loyalist….

Note: He RETIRED. The headline is bait.

  13. The problem with these generals quitting is that those position will be filled with appointed cronies.

  14. I bet money they are retiring. These are people with lots of experience, knowledge, time in. Why would you go into a war with a secretary war and President you could not trust.

  15. So much for FIGHTING against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC.

  16. More to lead our resistance when it happens in our near future

  17. Please stop doing this. We need Generals to defend against the enemy within
