It’s hard to believe that this time last year we were stood in Windsor after what will forever remain the most surreal day of our lives.
We had set off that morning with a nervous Liz hoping she could take photographs that would be good enough that Prince and Princess’ team would share them. We had no idea that we would all meet the Prince and Princess, and absolutely no concept of how incredibly lovely they and their team would be.
We knew that the photos were going to released and had given our full consent for that. We had no idea of the level of interest that would follow from the media. I can remember my mum ringing us in excitement to say she had seen the photos on the TV and the excitement and disbelief of the children when they saw themselves on the TV.
The memories that we made in October and November have sustained us in the months that have followed. This wouldn’t have happened without u/j0nathanjenkins from the air ambulance letting the Palace know about Liz or the incredible generosity of the Prince and Princess and their team.
I have no idea what the end of Liz’s life would have looked like had this day not happened, but it would definitely have been less magical, less full of life, less full of dreams that came true.
I don’t have the words to express the level of gratitude we felt then and continue to feel now – for that very special day, for all that happened because of it and for the difference it continues to allow us to make.
Liz always said her cancer was one piece of bad luck, but that it was followed by 100 pieces of good luck. She would have definitely counted this day, and the lemon drizzle cake, in that pile.

I like how William and Catherine has formed this bond with them.
💕
May Liz rest in peace, glad the Wales extended kindness to her and made her last days on earth a bit better.
