The festival “Ukrainian Cinema Days” will be held in Rīga from October 10th to 12th, organisers have announced.

The event is being held with the support of the State Film Agency of Ukraine and the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia. The main venue of the festival is the arthouse cinema “K. Suns” and the organizers of the festival are the charitable organization “Dveri” Charity Foundation, the International Association “For the Development and Support of Ukrainian Culture” from Ukraine, and the public organization “DijaTi” from Latvia.

This year’s festival program will begin with a discussion on the topic “Prospects for the development of Ukrainian cinema and co-production with European filmmakers” and will continue with the screening of five Ukrainian films – two documentaries and three feature films.

During the three days of the festival, viewers and festival guests will have the opportunity to get acquainted with new and classic works by Ukrainian directors that have received recognition at international festivals.

The program combines documentaries and feature films that touch on themes of war and peace, love and identity, history and the present.

Admission to all festival screenings is free. Films are shown in Ukrainian with Latvian subtitles. Full details of the films and screenings can be found here.
