Welsh Tories say Reform UK is a ‘threat’ but won’t rule out working with them after Senedd election

  6. Thankfully the new electoral system means that even if Reform ‘win’ the next election they won’t get an overall majority and so we’ll end up with some kind of Plaid-Labour deal, probably led by Plaid with potentially LD and Green support too.

    The nightmare scenario is if the Tories have the votes Reform need to get votes over the line, but their implosion is looking so huge I doubt that as well.

  11. Its because this would be the first time Tories would have power in Wales. They would relish fucking us.

  12. It would be odd if they did rule it out given so much of the Welsh ReformUK membership seem to be ex-Tories.

    Looking at recent polling there seems to be around a 1% chance that Refrom and Tories would form a combined majority.

    Once upon a time, there was such a thing as a decent Tory. I would profoundly disagree with them of course, but tories existed who were honest, and genuinely wanted the best for the country, misguided as they were. It was possible to have a rational debate with them.

    Johnson purged the party of those. And what is left is practically indistinguishable from deform.
