  1. From their Facebook page:

    “Support James Connolly House!

On May 1 Housing activists took control of numbers 12-14 Eden Quay a long vacant building to house people in need

On May 3 representatives from the Salvation Army, who closed the building that previously housed homeless, private security and the Garda tried to retake the building and failed. But it’s likely they will try again!

Show your support for housing activists and James Connolly House – Rally in support of the demand to open up all empty homes and buildings

6pm Corner of Eden Quay and Malbourogh Street.

All Welcome – Housing for the People Now!”

  2. Should start occupying the big chain hotels that are springing up everywhere. It won’t be an issue until big business see it as a threat.

  3. What happened to the previous house that they had occupied?

(I think it was 1 or 2 weeks before Easter.)

  4. Remember when Pat Kenny occupied an old couple’s land and assaulted them because they were greedily keeping it for themselves and just allowing him the use of it.

Same principles apply. “I don’t own property. But I want property. So someone should give me property or I’ll get violent”

  5. Can Guarantee half of these people have CEO daddy/mammies.

Came across a young one once with a Hammer and Sickle Iphone case…after a few more questions found out her father was a CEO who made over 150K a year, she wouldn’t say how much more. They lived in a massive house. She went to trinity college. but “payed her own way as a part time barista…” who was renting in the centre of Dublin, called bull shit and it turned out dad was paying her rent..and holidays.

But the iphone hammer and sickle made me laugh.
