  3. Trump would most likely demand “my way or the highway” and nothing would be resolved. Trump rarely negotiates unless it’s with republican senators to insure their votes.

    We’d start this whole mess all over again.

  4. Dems will have to cave and many Americans will lose healthcare coverage. Basically the entire poor and middle class are fucked. Both blue and red equally. Trump will fuck them all. But if you’re in the top 10%, you’re all good!

  9. It’s not gridlocked simply because the democrats are “refusing” to sign it. It’s gridlocked because the GoP has decided that they care more about money than American lives. Journalism sucks now because why are they positioning the argument in that way.

  11. The primary issue is that we are not getting reliable jobs data or inflation data.

    We can limp along a little bit without jobs data as the private sector has some information that can act as a bandaid in the interim; however, there is no private sector equivalent for the inflation data.

  12. Mark my words — Trump will axe about 5–10% of the more than two million federal workers. Those jobs backstop two or three private-sector roles each. Lose that many jobs and the ripple hits immediately. Politicians will point fingers and the whole thing goes under.

  14. A shutdown falls on the presidents lack of leadership. I mean problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top. A shutdown means a president is weak.

    The same guy is likely bowing down before Cheetoh Benito on firing scores of people and eliminating programs in blue states.

    I mean, we do have some history of what government shutdowns look like. Is it good? Nope. Will some families hurt? Yup. Shutdowns aren’t cheap.

    At the same time, nothing is spiraling out of control.

  23. lol like you’ve never seen a shut down before. It’s alarming that you aren’t worried that the government has a continuous debt problem and is still printing money as we speak. Better invest in gold and silver to move . Or do like the Hispanic culture, live in a home with a bunch of ppl. Don’t sit here and blame trump when there’s been a huge problem going back 30 years ago
