The Menai suspension bridge linking Anglesey with mainland Wales has closed indefinitely for essential work. The Welsh Government said it had given its "best efforts" to keep the bridge open but that it would be temporarily closed in light of a recent investigation that found bolts on beams under the bridge needed replacing.

It is 200 years old to be fair. It’s going to need some upkeep.
Closed indefinitely sounds terrible. I hope there will at least be a possibility of foot traffic, cycling and possible motorbikes in the near future.
If it’s safe for motorbikes that could also open up some emergency services access.
Bet they wish they’d built that 3rd bridge now
Wales not having much luck with bridges recently. Menai, Wye, Severn.. what’s going on?
Memories, used to cycle across this everyday in the mid 2000s from Bangor to work in Menai Bridge.
