Anyway, anyone else remember the other week when the BBC interrupted their coverage to show an entire hour of Reform’s press conference on immigration?
There’s also been a hell of a lot of time spent discussing gender reforms, Rossco.
Never have I been so supportive of a ginger. This guy gets it.
No lies detected
He’s not wrong, but getting a grip on the small boat crossings and ending hotel use will help as well and take away a lot of the ammunition being used by the right and far right.
Both can be true
Well said that man.
Greer makes so much sense and yet ruins it through his advocacy of a bunch of middle aged perverts and autistic teenagers. If the Scottish Greens dropped gender woo, they’d literally get all the votes (I know pelters incoming but Scotland is still an economically liberal, socially conservative country and no amount of downvotes will change that)
When news is written for profit and views, not facts and truth, we should never be surprised by who we end up.with as leaders.
ahh yes rent controls, sounds great in principle but will only lead to greater problems in the future. “Free bus travel”, nothing is free gov is funding this capital allocation, something tells me these policies are going to deliver sub-par returns and come back to bite the Scot-gov in the future. Short termism wins votes but misallocation of capital will in the long run ruin this country 🙁
A classic example of the “people who vote for other parties are all easily led dupes without any agency” position.
The people have been exposed to plenty of the Scottish Green Party for far longer, and they’re currently polling substantially behind Reform UK in Scotland.
I say that not in the sense that it’s a good or bad thing – a pox on both of their houses is my position – it’s that maybe the Greens might want to do a bit of analysis beyond the level of “people vote for them because the BBC is biased”. Which of course is the inevitable and incredibly boring position of every idiot on any political extreme.
Points very well made. He was bang on across all his comments !!
It’s not even that they won’t pay their fair share.
It’s that they are taking things from us that we need to live day to day.
Housing, more expensive to buy and rent because fewer and fewer people/companies are owning a increasing proportion of the housing and paying less tax on it.
Energy, we privatised all our energy providers so now shareholders get paid first, then staff, then if there’s anything left they might invest in the infrastructure.
Services, it’s cheaper for the water companies to pay they fines to put shit into our rivers than to invest in the infrastructure to clean the water.
Health, we sold our hospitals to raise cash for the short term to rent them back for the long term.
I have no problem with them not paying tax if that’s the issue. the problem is they are using their money and power to siphon our money and we have no choice in the matter.
I always assumed the BBC narrative was always led by the sitting government but that does not seem to be the case anymore. They’re Reforms biggest cheerleaders.
Ross Greer is the very epitome of a dweeb.
My mate was homeless last year and staying with me, but that wasn’t a long term solution. He needed to be closer to his mum as he is her primary carer. He was travelling miles everyday after work and sometimes before. His case had been assigned to someone that was on long term sick and when he emailed or phoned for months upon months all he got is an out of office type thing or someone else will get back to you.
Once he messaged his MSP Ross I also emailed Patrick Harvie and Nicola Sturgeon who were my local and regional MSP’s things started to move for him. I will never trust politicians completely but they did actually help my mate in this instance and I won’t forget that. Ross is one of the good guys in my eyes.
Absolutely correct. Scrap the BBC. Its a right wing propaganda machine, designed to deflect accountability away from the rich ruling classes who cause our misery.
Notice how he hardly got any claps lol.
That’s him never invited back on the BBC! AND they’ll have to fire that host for not interrupting before some truths about “Reform” could be aired.
He’s more than a touch delusional if he thinks Reform don’t reflect the views of a lot of people in Scotland. Given the Greens only campaign in Hyndland, Leith, and Shawlands that does not surprise me however.
You won’t combat Reform by moaning they exist. Take them on.
Who are all these dim witted cunts that think taxing the rich is a bad idea
The child poverty calculation is driven by the underlying labour market. The SNP are responsible for this ha img been power for 18 years.
Our productivity lags, our infrastructure is aging and under invested and our education system is not producing the skills we need. More needs to be done to provide training opportunities and really open up vocational training to all. We also need a reboot on our curriculum.
Policy has taken the legs away from our most lucrative industries and hampered investment. This has a big impact on the job opportunities and salaries available. We get paid like shit in most of Scotland. Limited housing and shit transport networks also don’t help.
We have more people now with less spending so it’s dragging our economy backwards. There are economic realities to immigration that will impact on child poverty. Taxing workers more to spend increase benefits isn’t a viable long term solution. The SNP need to take accountability, they have a hand in the 1 in 4 number and have the power to make it better. Time to stop all the bogey man shite and start delivering.
