As reported by the state agency KCNA, Reuters writes
The leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, announced new military steps in response to the increase of American military presence on the Korean Peninsula. This position was voiced during a speech at a special exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea, held on the official stage of the country’s governance and defense achievements.
“In proportion to the growth of U.S. forces in Korea, our strategic interest in the region has also grown, and we have accordingly allocated special resources for key targets. Our enemies should consider in which direction their security environment is developing”
– Kim Jong Un
He added that North Korea will undoubtedly develop additional military measures, without disclosing details.

According to South Korean officials, the DPRK is intensifying military cooperation with Russia, providing assistance in the war against Ukraine, notably by sending troops and artillery systems. North Korea is also strengthening ties with China: recently the country’s leader visited Beijing, where he took part in a military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II alongside Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin.
In a global context, these actions are drawing interest and caution from the United States and its allies, but official positions from North Korea remain largely unconfirmed or not publicly stated.
