  3. Perhaps it’s a new training exercise – since they are utterly incapable of arresting violent criminals, why not let them practice on disabled people and pensioners.

    This sort of carry on is absolutely outrageous.

  5. They haven’t been arrested for supporting Palestine or opposing genocide.

    They have been arrested specifically for displaying signs in support of Palestine action.

    There are hundreds of pro Palestine demonstrations and organisations up and down the country that go ahead with their activities and face no sanction whatsoever.

    You may not like the proscription of PA or the police’s willingness to enforce it but can we not just blatantly lie about what is happening and why..

  13. This is such nonsense by the UK government. People should be allowed to protest, without ridiculous restrictions based on laws enacted at the request of a foreign government

  22. Notice the debate is all about Palestine. Ukraine has seemingly been forgotten about. Where Putin is bombing and killing innocent people.

    Over here it’s simply an excuse for Republicans to also be anti-british but again, try to disguise it using a different coloured flag. Protesting about Ukraine doesn’t give you that same proxy message.

    There absolutely is a genocide in Gaza, I’m not denying it, but I think a proportion of protesters, particularly over here, are really just using this as a vehicle to project their own anti british bigotry more than anything else.

  27. The UK is literally drowning in Drugs and petty theft but those things are considered a lower priority than taking Doris down to the station?

  28. It’s **not illegal** to protest the proscription of Palestine Action.

    You can literally hold a sign saying:
    **“Palestine Action should not be proscribed – I support the people of Gaza – end the bloodshed.”**

    That’s *not* terrorism. That’s political speech – and it’s protected.

    But instead, people are risking **terrorism charges** just to get arrested for clout or attention. For what? A viral clip? The proscription is all over the news already – you don’t need a criminal record to make your point.

    Getting slapped with a terrorism offence isn’t a joke. You’re looking at:

    * A permanent criminal record
    * Surveillance and travel restrictions
    * Job and education barriers
    * Years of stress and legal battles

    You can make noise **without** handing the state more ammo. Be smart. Make your point, stay visible, and don’t throw your future away just to “prove a point” that the media’s already covering.

  30. You can’t publicly support terrorist groups like Hamas so you can’t support groups like Palestine action that target you military bases. Well done to the police working together.

    Anyone celebrating the arrests need to think about what can happen at their rallies in the future with the incoming new police powers
