  1. Not shutdown related, but has anyone noticed there’s a ton of bots trying to build a powderkeg by suggesting that both parties need to prepare for a civil war and it’s necessary and justified?

  2. Gop can either nuke the filibuster or make a deal to get the couple of votes they need. Either way the choice to continue this is fully and completely in their hands.

  5. Day 5 of the media collectively bending over backwards to make this a “both sides” situation, *not* making Hatch Act violations (among other illegalities) as daily headlines, etc.

  6. Worst part is that even without a government; Trump is still president

  7. The news articles are making this sound so negative for the employees. “800,000 gov employees at risk of furlough”. “Trump threatens to fire non essential employees”

    Meanwhile we were stoked to get a few free vacation days.

    At risk of furlough means at risk of not having to work and then we get paid back for the time off (it’s a law as of 2019).

    We aren’t as concerned as the media says. Also if they really had this amazing cheat ability to fire all of us, THEY ALREADY WOULD HAVE.

  8. Is anyone watching CBS Face the Nation? I’m not a fan of Schumer’s relative inaction over the past couple years, but he’s finally doing something right and Brennan is making it sound like Democrats caused the shutdown and aren’t working hard enough with the Republicans. And then she asked Schumer if he’s even tried calling Trump, because he’s “available for calls.” What the hell is her problem?
