Where are you located?
stap 1: heeft de buurman een boom?
I buy them from local guys / 2dehands. Be app . Never buy them on websites , way too expensive .
Please consider don’t using firewood. Its amazingly bad for the environment and your neighbors lungs.
Brandhout.com is reliable but expensive. I only order there when there is no other option. If you want cheaper, you’ll have to search for local sellers. Usually, for these smaller businesses, you don’t pay transport if it’s below 25km, and they have better prices.
In addition: you’re technically already too late to buy Firewood cheap. You should buy in spring/summer and ask for ‘half droog’. But that requires you to have some space to stack it and let it dry completely.
Anyway, good luck
Have you considered not starting wood burning? Wood burning is the number one emitter of particulate matter in Flanders. Knowing that most of the wood is burned only part of the year and that only part of the population burns wood, it means that one fireplace emits a massive amount of particulate matter. If you start burning wood, you’re adding a new major source of air pollution in your own environment.
I agree that a nice fire is very cozy. But let’s keep it for exceptional occasions and try to take better care of our own neighborhood’s air quality.
I bet you can buy those at Hubo and Brico!
An ex-colleague of mine ordered a Winters’ worth from BOL.com (someone selling via BOL) A truck delivered to her doorstep all the way from the Netherlands. She was happy with the purchase.
I bought our wood from woodcom.eu

Tip: you can buy wood with some ‘eco cheques’ 😉

Or Brico
Everywhere if you’re not bothered by police turning up?
Facebook market
Big difference between ‘wind dry’ and ‘oven dry’. Most of what you find online on a pallet has been dried in an oven. The outer part of the wood is extremely dry while the inside is still humid. No problem if you have a good stove. For people who want to use OFYR or similar (cooking with wood) you really need ‘wind dry’.
2dehands.
Do get some quality stuff though please, for the sake of air quality and your neighbours. No pine (unless dried for 3-4 years), no pallets etc.
