After a long offseason, the Golden State Warriors hit the court for the first time on Sunday for their 2025 preseason opener against the Los Angeles Lakers. Sunday’s contest also marked the debut of several new members of the Warriors, including veteran free agent signing Al Horford.

After spending seven of the last nine seasons with the Boston Celtics, Horford suited up in his white, blue and gold No. 20 jersey for the first time at Chase Center.

Horford was not included in the starting lineup on Sunday, but did come off the bench. In a 14-minute stint off the bench, Horford stuffed the boxscore, recording three points on 1-of-3 shooting from the field to go along with four rebounds, three blocks, three assists and a steal against the Lakers. Horford’s trio of points came from beyond the arc, hitting a 3-pointer on three attempts from deep.

With Horford alongside Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler, the Warriors pulled away from the Lakers on the way to a victory on Sunday, 111-103. Moses Moody led all scorers with a game-high 19 points.
