Does anyone know what the story is with all the four provinces flags flying publicly from lampposts? What are they meant to signify?

  1. This is asked very often. No one knows who put them up and why exactly they did.

Could be for anything. Maybe to call for a united Ireland, maybe to support all four province rugby teams, maybe for a specific group or event, or maybe just to share some culture or national pride or something.

I don’t understand why it gets asked so often. Yeah it’s a mystery but they’re just flags? If it was the country’s flag, there’d be no questions. It’s just another symbol of Ireland, like, it’s not some cryptic message or something (unless it is…..???)

  2. Flag of the four provinces. It’s at half mast because the four provinces have been dead to some people since at least pre-Covid times. They’re still in mourning I see.
