  1. Funnily enough TISZA’s party leader said that next year after elections win for its party Hungary will start the euro accession process especially considering that 75% of population want euro adoption

  4. I mean, you just have to look at how horribly the forint is doing in comparison with the Euro to see that having a national currency isn’t all that it’s jazzed up to be.

  7. Maybe it’s time for a EU 2.0. Loose some of the Corruptograds, get qualified majority voting and properly start a unified military.

  9. Proper federalism would make Hungary practically irrelevant.

    Is there a way to implement a such without requiring unanimity?

  12. If he believes that then he should be working on pulling Hungary out of the EU so he could get a head start on being outside it (and inside Russia’s sphere of influence).

    We all know why he doesn’t do that (if he truly believes it):

    1. He would not be able to extract money and political concessions from the EU
    2. He would be unable to mess things up from the inside

  16. Of course he would never join the Eurozone. His whole policy is hold up by forcing Hungarians to buy government bonds then devaluing the Forint faster than the Russian Ruble. If he couldn’t devalue the currency his whole system would collapse in weeks.

    His modus operandi is shorting the Forint by making fucking insane statements to drive the exchange rate up, and with the adoption of the Euro that would no longer work.

  23. The EU is not disintegrating by itself. There are *people* actively doing the disintegrating. Orban is one of the prime examples himself. 

  25. Embezzlement of funds is much harder in euro. Also Orbán’s rule is disintegrating.

  27. Says the leader who has effectively destroyed his country’s economy to a degree where it lies at the very bottom of all EU countries.
