”The new measure means that UK citizens are essentially treated in the same manner at the airport as EU citizens. The e-gate system can also be used by nationals from Australia, Japan, Singapore, and New Zealand.”
This sounds like a real non-story..
The first eu country ??
The UK literally shares a border with a EU country (Ireland) that doesn’t require any such checks while crossing. It doesn’t get more fast tracked than that .
Very misleading – not the same as EU citizens at all.
You will still need to pay for and complete ETIAS, and you will still be subject to the same restrictions as non-EU travelers. It just means you can clear the border controls in the airport more quickly.
