   Ah well, the UK has been a shambling corpse since 2015. Maybe Scotland and North Ireland can break off and rejoin civilization.

2. Trying to steal votes from reform won’t make the public forget about 14 years of failure.

   That being said, this is probably just yet another tory promise that will never actually come to fruition. I’d take the tories again over farages brainless racist cult any time.

5. The tories are great at shouting populist nonsense to win votes. There’s literally no chance they could do this. The one upside to having an unelected house of Lords is that they don’t rely on short term silly populist ideas to stay in their seat.

   All we will get if the Tories/reform win the next GE, is them screeching about immigrants and doing nothing to actually tackle the issue because their real goal is simply to use as much taxpayer money to line their own pockets (which is what the Lords do too, but they know it can be done consistently without totally destroying the country like the US is doing).

   Also a reminder that Labour has done more to tackle immigration in the last year than the Tories did in several years before the GE

   Honestly, sad as it is to say, I think the HoL is probably the only thing that has prevented the UK from having a fascist era (at home) like most other countries seem to have from time to time.

6. Doesn’t matter what the Tories say. There’s no way they get back into government before 2034. Either Labour wins a minority in 2029, or Reform sweeps into power and renders the Conservatives obsolete.

7. The main difference is no one in the serious political landscape is “pro” illegal immigration in the way Democrats are.

   Even our Greens and Lib dem parties, who are so left wing as to make Bernie Sanders look a conservative. Dont “support” illegal immigration they just want to prioritise billionaires and think these people can be deported with some compassion.

   “ICE” in the UK sense has no major opposition outside the Lefists who genuinely believe in open borders. It would be quite popular and we already have the HO who reguarly deport illegals when they can find them.

   Its one area US/UK politics just dont align in a comparable way. No one is in favour of keeping people here who should not be.

   Meanwhile Americans seem quite keen to keep illegal immigrants.

10. The most amusing, and tragically funny, part is that seems that Brits quickly forgot what happened last time a government went on a crackdown on immigration, they quickly forgot the failing economy, the lack of workers, products shortages and so on…

    Let’s cut the crap and call it what it truly is: Racism!
    There was still a big part of Brits that were racistes, now it’s growing fueled by social media.

    ICE on the USA was turned into Maga’s version of SS, persecuting and killing not only illegals, but also opponents, since many Americans were immigrants that became American Citizens.

    ICE has become the protection services of many Republican Officials, taking the role out of of Secret Services, and being used to remove journalists, opponents and citizens from public actions, events and supposed “Democratic meetings”.

    This is the kind of ICE that they want, UK already has the institutions, forces and laws to deal with immigration.

11. People are forgetting that ICE in itself is not a bad idea: detaining and deporting illegal immigrants. The problems arise when ICE doesn’t respect the law and violate human rights, which was clearly evident in the US. It’s possible that the UK can create an ICE that does uphold the law and human rights and then ICE shouldn’t be considered fascism
