BBC – P&O Ferries forced to reverse attempt at pay cut

  1. Article isn’t very clear, but it sounds like they are being forced to reverse a further pay cut to their new staff.

NOT rehire the recently and illegally fired staff on their original terms, as the title sort of suggests.

    Anyone able to clarify?

  2. Heard on Radio that they will be selling tickets sailing to Dover today with a ship called “**The Spirit of Britain**”.

How apt that a firm sacking its long-term UK sailors replacing them by cheaper foreign workers or contract staff then trying to reduce these workers wages even further should be called the spirit of Britain – these days a greedy shit-show benefit for the already rich. :/

  3. Here’s an idea for P&O. Provide a cut price ticket and get the people taking the ferry to sail it themselves. No employment costs and how hard can it be?
