4. It’s not comical at all. Trump antagonized China, which then cancelled the soybean purchases. Since they voted for him, now he wants to give them money and drive up the deficit even more, on top of the handouts to his billionaire buddies.

So he engages in a trade war that kills export revenue, significantly reducing the amount of money coming into the country, the exact opposite of his stated goal, then taxes American companies on their imports for essential components of products they make in the US, forcing them to increase prices locally and making them even less competitive overseas. All of this results in increased prices, less jobs, reducing the ability of Americans to buy things, further hurting US companies…

    And then he gives the taxes from the tariffs to companies which are failing because they aren’t making money any more, so they … can continue… to… not make money? Keep making soy beans that can sit around not being eaten?

    Brilliant! What a wonderful idea for an economy!

    Hurt all the things that were making money, make everyone poorer with taxes, and give the money to failing businesses!
