I see Russia quite similar to North Korea, really. The war is not at all what the west thinks, and not what the russians think. Take a look at North Korea for example: their dictatorship depends on people's belief that they are at war with the west.
Because the russian soldiers are convinced that the war in ukraine is justified and necessary, they are now willing to oppress even russians who protest against the war.
And since russian soldiers are willing to oppress their own people now, they are also ushering extreme digital surveillance and taking the censorship to the next level. They literally require all smartphones in the country to now link your personal government issued ID.
People now are able to resist it less than before the militarization was so severe.
And about Putin's excuses: NATO provoking, the 2014 coup, the neo nazis, the TCC savagery in ukraine? They are useful idiots.
What, you think world leaders care about suffering, about genocides? They are all complicit with Israel. Hell, most of them sponsor it. What makes you think they aren't complicit with Russia's plans?
Them sending weapons to Ukraine is exactly what Putin needs, to brainwash russians about the importance of martial law, to transform into a metaphorical north korea.
Russia is still selling resources to those they fight with. Think about that. Maybe some of the easily debunkable absurd anti-russia hoaxes were also russia sponsored? To convince themselves that their state's censorship is good?

It was to steal the deep water ports of Ukraine and the rich agricultural and mineral country between it and Russia. Remember how they stole the steel from Mariople and sold grain from Ukraine and loaded it onto ships. Remember how Prigozion claimed a salt mine for himself?
