I am travellers in Bansko, and the street parking is much cheaper than my alternative options, but it seems like you can pay with SMS, or with the apps which also require SMS.
Does someone know how can it be done without a bulgarian sim?

  1. You dont need Bulgarian sim to sms Bulgarian number. (I guess you cant in Bansko)

  2. By using any of the qr codes on that sign to download an app.

  3. Download the Urbo app, it’s cheaper even. You can see the QR code there

  4. Yup, this shit is retarded, I don’t even know where to buy the parking vouchers or pay cash… What does that even mean, where do you pay cash to park at a random place in the city ? It’s wild that it’s limited to SMS, while every civilized country has applications, you log into the app and pay with a credit card or your mobile payment application…

  5. There is a machine where you can put your car number and pay with revolut or debit card.

I could find the machine on Google maps if you want 🙂

  6. You should still be able to send text to the short number for payment by adding the country code +359.

If that still doesn’t work, the parking inspectors should sell prepaid paper parking cards where you scratch the daye and time and put then on the dashboard.

  7. The only options are at some machine, with cash, or with the application, but only if the application supports card payment. There are applications which are just a wrapper for the SMS method, which are useless for foreigners.

  8. ask a passerby if he can pay for you and give him the money + tip for the effort

  9. I asked a waiter to send sms for me and then paid him
