Churr-noochie would be Čurnuči. Try saying it like ch-R-noo-ch-eh. It’s weird explaining the hard r with an English word, try pronouncing the r like the gal in [this video](https://youtu.be/Avg1s13ea0Q) lol.
Great meme btw.
Churn-oo-Ché is the closest that English phonetics will get you.
Every local will know exactly where you are from. Hint: it’s 2 syllables.
Thanks for the awards, yall! I really love learning the language. It’s cool and fun and weird. I’ve come a long way from saying ‘Metal Cove Uh’ and ‘Bovek.’ (Because a guy at the bar laughed at me when I said them wrong and the embarrassment scarred me for life, which is apparently a solid way to learn things.)
If you have truble with pronunciations google translate is great for learning(in my oppinion), but it may be hard for you to find č, š and ž.
Č is ch as in “cheese”
Š is sh as in “ship”
Ž is zh as in… there aren’t really any words with “zh” in them. Good luck lol
ez
Fun fact: this is also how our ancestors wrote this shit down before we invented Č, Š and Ž
I used to spend my summers at the Croatian seaside. Some kids wanted me to teach them Slovene. I loved reading and I always had books with me, so I gave the friend a sentence to try and read. It had “ščebetanje” in it, so that was it for the Slovene lessons.
Btw love the meme.
What about ščegetavček :>
When Your Country keeps getting placed next to Czech Republic and Poland all the time by CNN… Grrrr

Wait till you find out about “Črtomirova”
Use [eBralec](https://ebralec.si/branje/) for pronunciation
Try “Begunje na Gorenjskem”
