Ukraine: Zaporizhia under heavy fire amid disputed Russian control • FRANCE 24 English

A day of cleanup in Zaparia as shop employees and local crews restore power and clear debris from a busy commercial strip and surrounding bus station, one of the hardest hit areas in the overnight Russian strike. I heard an explosion and saw what had happened to it. Then I heard the sound of a shahed and then I went to the modular shelter. The Ukrainian Air Force reports 115 drones struck overnight, of which 97 were shot down across north, southeast, and central Ukraine. Nearby, the Zaparia nuclear plant, Europe’s biggest nuclear facility, has been off the external grid for 4 days, the longest such blackout so far, relying on emergency generators for vital cooling and safety systems. Both Ukraine and Russia trade accusations for the severed power supply lines. In a video, Zilinski warned Moscow of an eye for an eye retaliation. If they threaten a blackout, for example, in the Ukrainian capital, then the Kremlin should know that there will be a blackout in the Russian capital. Speaking at the UN assembly, Russia’s foreign minister, Sergi Lav, strongly warned NATO powers against firmer responses to his country. Threats of the use of force against Russia are increasingly being made. Russia is being accused of of almost planning to attack the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union countries. Russia has never had and does not have any such intentions. However, any aggression against my country will be met with a decisive response. Lavroof added that Russia has some hopes for continued talks and cooperation with the United States despite Washington hardening its stance on Moscow after efforts to resolve the war stalled.

The Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant has been off the grid for four straight days, Ukraine and Russia said Saturday, blaming each other for attacks on power lines. Though blackouts at Europe’s biggest nuclear power plant are frequent, due to its proximity to the front line, this one is the longest so far, which experts warn raises the risk of incidents.   7. I would imagine that 500 drones fired at Moscow civilians would make Russians see this war somewhat differently, luckily Ukrainians are not sub human like them.
