This can also be true of Brits themselves. Whenever I hear people saying how good British public transport is, I know they’re not talking about Cornwall
yeah id be surprised is a American said they loved my northern accent
I will FOREVER Love David Beckham for doing that to Victoria during her interview🤣😂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
“You’re not affiliated with me”
I’d honestly be surprised if most of them even knew the difference between British and English.
I have never seen an American ever even acknowledge the UK in informal settings, its always England, English.
This despite the fact that it was Great Britain they broke away from in 1776 so there is no excuse.
Just like when they talk about visiting Britain and they just mean London
What I always find amusing is when they talk about the “British accent”.
There’s no such thing…
It’s a classic case of people thinking London *is* the entire UK.
Even then, they need to be more honest and talk about which part of London, since London is extremely diverse in of itself.
I mean Londoners are British people?
I mean only something like 25% of London is British anymore.
They’re not being dishonest, they just don’t know…which is probably worse
Or brummies
Went to Canada once and when i spoke they just looked at my missus to translate. Pretty standard Mancunian accent didn’t think it was that unintelligible.
You need another panel for ‘rich Londoners’
I mean, can you really blame them? London is pretty much the only place of mainstream international relevance we have left.
Won’t see me saying New Yorkers aren’t American. Weird you’d act like people from London aren’t British.
