Europe has become the epicentre of the pandemic again, prompting some governments to consider re-imposing unpopular lockdowns in the run-up to Christmas and stirring debate over whether vaccines alone are enough to tame COVID-19.
Why does this sub focus so much on COVID? Is that all that happens in Europe?
From someone who has been living in lockdown free UK since July 18, just ride this wave out!
Our vaccine coverage (not the highest in Europe mind you) has seen a reduction in hospitalizations from a peak of 40,000 back in January and now with no lockdown we haven’t even broke 10,000 hospitalizations yet.
Before vaccinations it took lockdown to reduce peak weekly deaths of ~10,000. Now with no lockdown we are getting <1000.
Those figures speak for themselves, no need to put restrictions on your lives anymore! Get the booster shots out!
