As Israel-Hamas conflict marks 2 years, this Palestinian-born Windsorite reflects on the toll the conflict has taken

October 7 marks a grim anniversary: It was two years ago that Hamas attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking 250 hostages. Israel’s resulting war has killed an estimated 66,000 Palestinians and wounded 170,000 more. Windsor’s Maher El-Maseri knows some of those people personally. He met with CBC Windsor’s Sonya Varma to talk about the toll the conflict has taken on him and his loved ones, and what he hopes for the region.
