Weird article. Is the EU saying it is Democratic to pick a small number of people, coach them for a year, and then implement what they say? Democracy is not a case of “either ask ten people or everybody — it’s all the same!” What a weird attitude.
This sounds like a weird rail-roaded exercise, a little bit of virtue signalling, but the EU wouldn’t look anything near like it does if it really cared about democracy
And I don’t know who is looking around at EU 2022, prices rocketing from its own sanctions, a million dead from COVID, climate change knocking at the door, and feels hope… who can honestly say they’ve seen evidence of the leaders we need to get through the massive crises we have ahead?
