Week 5 is officially in the books, thanks to a boisterous Jacksonville Jaguars win over the Kansas City Chiefs on “Monday Night Football.”
Trevor Lawrence scored the game-winning touchdown after falling down — twice — with less than 30 seconds left. The Jaguars are 4-1 and tied atop the AFC South with the Indianapolis Colts, just as we all expected before the season kicked off.

The Kansas City Chiefs, meanwhile, fall to 2-3, with all three losses coming in one-score games. They were 10-0 in such games last season, and further questions are raised now about their ability to reach an eighth straight AFC championship game.

The first step? Win at home this week on “Sunday Night Football” against the Detroit Lions, who got some good news on Tuesday. Cornerback Terrion Arnold got a second opinion on his shoulder injury and could now return “sooner than expected,” per ESPN, possibly even this month. On Monday, Lions head coach Dan Campbell looked downtrodden in saying that Arnold and fellow cornerback Khalil Dorsey could be out for “a while,” with CB D.J. Reed already on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Perhaps that won’t be the case with Arnold.
Week 6 begins Thursday night with the Philadelphia Eagles visiting the New York Giants, and Saquon Barkley popped up on the Eagles’ estimated practice report Monday with a knee injury. Per NFL Network, however, it was just “general soreness” and Barkley is expected to play on Thursday.
