Honestly I’m not even against them but the gov polling site might as well close at this point. Every response I’ve seen to one that’s met its target is ‘lolno’
So when is the protest?
Even though it’ll do nothing regarding illegal migration. Legal employers already ask for valid UK ID, like a passport or driver’s licence

They act like it’s a fucking Q&A website. We’re not asking, we’re telling, that’s the whole damn point.
The government should just auto post the bugs bunny “no” meme to everything on that site.

I intend to flat out refuse these things, even if it lands me in court or whatever. From what I gather, there’s similar growing sentiment online also; I hope enough people, here and elsewhere, join me.

When even fucking *Palantir* are saying they want no part of this, you have to ask yourself the question, “Are we the baddies that are so bad that even the actual baddies think we’re bad?”
This whole thing is stupid because migrants must have a residence permit to be able to work anyway, and employers will ask you for your right to work here whether it be a passport or your residence permit which lists your visa.
Unscrupulous employers by the very nature of what they do hire people without looking at this information, in order to exploit them. How exactly will introducing a new piece of ID stop them from continuing as they were?
Sometimes I wonder if starmer is actually a not so secret reform plant that’s actively working to make people hate Labour.

This does not mean a petition will definitely be debated and certainly doesn’t mean they will do what the petition is asking for, especially if they are already decided on a matter.
Just remember the MPs who represent you, who you voted for, pushed for this.
You know these petition websites are literally just to get you to shut up? This with the heavy stigmatisation of protest in the UK. And its working unfortunately.
Call me a hypocrite, but I was massively against the Online Safety Act but not so much with digital IDs
I realise I’m being lazy, but can somebody give me a breakdown of the pros and cons of the ID card system? Most of the stuff I Google tends to just tell me about the controversy around it rather than what it actually means for us
Starmer is a Davos stooge, digital id is part of the w.e.f. long game.
One of the things that bothers me about this is that no one voted for it, it wasn’t on the election docket for Labor as a thing they would do, since it wasn’t they need to put this to vote.
My biggest reason for not wanting this is I just don’t trust the government to not fuck it up somehow or for overspending and under-delivering.
Not very democratic, I urge everyone not to take this lightly and fight it with every fiber of your being. Its no longer conspiracy theories, its happening in real time!
