  1. Love him or hate him, this is a step in the right direction. It’s absurd how easy gambling has become.

  2. I fully agree. It’s preying on the weakest urges of people. They should also forbid gambling platforms sponsoring sporting events & teams.

  3. Good decision. Same as banning tobacco ads. Both make people dependent and they sicken either your personal health or your financial health.

  6. Quickie is a turd but this is a good decision. Just like with prostitution or smoking (and eventually drugs) there’s no need to outlaw sports betting or gambling, but it needs to be controlled and that includes a ban on all advertising.

  7. No. Shit.

Me as a 16 year old thought it weird how ubiquitous gambling commercials were, since then it’s only gotten worse.

Hoping something gets done about it, but I’m not holding my breath. Inb4 “there needs to be a disclaimer saying “Jaja, geld vergokken is ook geld uitgeven hé, gokken doe je met verstand”

  8. This could potentially be a death-blow to Belgian cycling. Pro-Cycling, Cyclo-Cross… Imagine still expecting people to vote for you, or your party, after endangering Belgium’s favorite passtime. LMFAO.

  9. also: nobody thinks it’s strange (hypocritical) that highly caloric/sugary brands like coca cola or mcdonalds are sponsors of major sports tournaments & teams either, and tons of these “health crazy” top players are proud and open ambassadors/endorsers of them?
