Politicians globally have realised they can monitor the internet more effectively by citing child protection.
Its the classic move. Something something children, something something nonces.
Now all the adults in Denmark get to hand over ID to the government to access social media and can be spyed on properly.
Personally, I see this as more of the parents’ decisions and responsibilities. But I do agree with the sentiment. My kids will be kept off of social media for as long as possible. They have those watch phones so they can call their friends, but they don’t need to be on unsupervised TikTok or Instagram until they’re older.
But I can’t speak for other people on this issue and think the government should not, either.
