Flamingos Arrive in Morocco, Schedule Friendlies Vs New Zealand and Paraguay

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, have safely arrived in Casablanca, Morocco, as preparations intensify for their participation in the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The team departed Abuja at 7:18 a.m. on Tuesday and landed in Casablanca at 11:28 a.m., following a smooth 4-hour and 20-minute flight. On arrival, the young players were welcomed with an unexpected yet inspiring moment a meeting with former Super Eagles defender, Taribo West, who offered words of encouragement and wished the team success at the upcoming tournament.
The squad is currently lodged at the Ibis Hotel in Casablanca and is scheduled to hold a light training session later this evening as part of their acclimatization and pre-tournament routine.
While in Morocco, the Flamingos will play two preparatory friendlies; against New Zealand and Paraguay, aimed at fine-tuning their tactics ahead of the global showpiece.
Drawn into Group D, Nigeria will face Canada, France, and Samoa in the group stage, with their opening match set for October 17.
The team arrives at the tournament with strong momentum, having played 10 friendly matches in the buildup, scoring 44 goals and remarkably conceding none.
