My latest with Khaleda Rahman:
Alaska’s City of Fairbanks Mayor David Pruhs, a Republican, conceded to Mindy O’Neall, a Democrat, in the mayoral election on Tuesday night.

Release the Epstein Files, unredacted. We know that the man seen in photos with Maxwell and Epstein will be in there.
Trump: we’re sending the National Guard to Fairbanks Alaska, a Radical Democrat city that’s on fire.
Are they shocked that the election wasn’t fixed by the party in power? Because it’s no shock that the party destroying the future of the country should loose power.
A Republican gracefully admitting defeat. No whining, no claims for fraud, just “The voters have spoken…I wish Mindy the best.”
I’ll be damned.
This bodes well for us all!
Alaskans may be conservative but they’re a bit too independent to be willing to submit to fascist authoritarians quite yet.
There are 31,732 people in Fairbanks with a median age of 28. The total number of votes was 3,336. 10.5% of the population voted when 84% of the population is above 10 years old.
Let’s hope they get sworn in then.
Only ~10% of the population voted?!?!
This reminds me of every election/special election leading up to 2024.
From 2022 to 2024, Democrats were winning everything from congressional seats to dog catcher, yet, somehow, it all culminated with them losing the most important election of all.
The writing is on the wall for the mid-term elections. The majority party should have already started lining up their post-Congressional consulting gigs. The clock on this administration is running low.
Mark my words with shifting demographics, republican apathy and democrat mobilization, gerrymandering wont work anymore. So they are going to have to cancel elections to prevent losing.
If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. The will reject democracy.

>shock election defeat
Is it really such a shock that Republicans are losing when the party is leading a war on the American people, the economy is crashing, and dear leader is a known pedophile?
Shocking! The one party who has a modicum of respect for actual American values like free speech, due process, checks and balances, etc are winning over the self admitted dictator party… Wow
Horrible turnout but it shows you that all votes matter.
Don’t worry comrades, the glorious leadership of the republicans will delay her confirmation until the epstien list, which doesn’t exist is safe.
This is why the Republicans are working so hard to rig the midterms
No more nazis
A lot of Republicans in all offices are going to be replaced. The party has become synonymous with hatred and their irrational support of anything trump wants.
Dude is doing cartwheels not to blame trump’s impact on his party.
Not shocking republicans are destroying the country. It’s time for people to fucking wake up from their mouth breathing stupor
“Shock”
Look at the way the GOP is running the country into the ground. Who would still vote for them is the real question
“According to unofficial election night results made available by the city of Fairbanks, O’Neall received 1,808 votes (54 percent) and Pruhs received 1,528 votes (45.7 percent). “
In a city of 32,515, only 3,336 people voted for these two.
I’m happy about it but this isn’t an indicator of anything for me. A small town mayoral race in Alaska which doesn’t even acknowledge party affiliation… Kinda feels like we’re reaching for a win here.
Hey Fairbanksian here, every year national news slaps some verb like shock, freak, surprising into a headline with a democrat/progressive wins in Alaska, but we elect left leaning representatives all the time in Fairbanks. The election results were welcome news (besides low turnout), but not really a shock.
Given how the GOP has used the Constitution as toilet paper over the last year this is not shocking at all.
3300 voters, folks. In an Alaskan city election. Every vote counts.
There are more upvotes here than people who voted in that election.
The real shock is the republican conceding
MAGA better be ready for more at every level starting now through next year.
I feel pretty confident the tide is turning against MAGA. the only question is will it be enough and in time to save our country?
