I love this – reminds me of the [Mickey Mouse/101 Dalmatians t shirts and jumpers](https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/320670435963696191/) that were all the rage at the time – these girls were of an age that seemed desperately cool and grown up to me back then – strange to think they are now in their mid 50s. Photography is like magic.

It’s a testament to advertising that I know the full text of the sign ending ES above the shop to the left of the picture, as well as what the background colour ought to be.
It also helps to identify the kind of shop that probably is, despite only being able to see a little bit of awning and the window.
Different decade, different times, but the girls in the photo could still fit in today’s youth and you couldn’t notice much of a difference

I’m in intrigued why it’s in Black & White. Colour photography was the norm by 1980. I was born in the ’78 and all my baby pics are in colour and my parents would no way have been ahead of the curve with technology.
