PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — President Donald Trump, cabinet members, and several conservative influencers held a roundtable discussion on Antifa in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.

“In Portland, Oregon, Antifa thugs have repeatedly attacked our officers and laid siege to federal property in an attempt to violently stop the execution of federal law. Everything we’re doing is very lawful. What they’re doing is not lawful,” said Trump.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said the federal government will deploy the “full might” of the feds to crack down on antifa and other domestic terrorist organizations.

“Antifa is a domestic left-wing terrorist organization. We’ve seen them on video for years because they wanted to be seen, and they got away with it. They beat journalists, they attack courthouses, they attack police stations, they dox and assault our law enforcement officers,” said AG Bondi.

The President and his cabinet members also made claims that buildings are being burned around the ICE facility and the city.

“This is not activism, it’s anarchy. We can’t and we will not let masked terrorists burn our buildings, attack our law enforcement, and intimidate our communities,” said Bondi.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem spoke about her recent visit to the ICE facility in Portland. Noem said that Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek and Portland Mayor Keith Wilson are attempting to hide terrorist activity in the city.

“I was in Portland [Tuesday] and had the chance to visit with the governor of Oregon and also the mayor there in town, and they are absolutely covering up the terrorism that is hitting their streets,” said Noem.

Following comments from US Attorney General Pam Bondi, Noem, FBI Director Kash Patel, and the President himself, conservative influencers shared their thoughts on what’s happening in Portland.

Nick Sortor, the 27-year-old Washington D.C. resident who was arrested near the ICE facility earlier this week, said that Portland’s politicians are risking the safety of its citizens.

“The Portland politicians are literally willing to sacrifice their own citizens just to appease these antifa terrorists,” said Sortor.

Sortor expressed frustration over his arrest, saying it should’ve never happened in the first place and that he was targeted for being a conservative journalist.

Towards the end of his comments, Sortor presented an American flag that was burned by protestors outside the ICE facility that was central to the situation leading to his arrest.

Trump asked Sortor to hand the flag over to Bondi and other officials to initiate investigations into the matter.

“Give it to the Attorney General and let’s start prosecutions,” said Trump.

Following Sortor, conservative influencers Brandi Kruse, Andy Ngo, Katie Daviscourt, and others spoke about what they see as terrorist activity in the city.

Daviscourt, who was hit with a flagpole during a protest last week, claimed that Portland Police and city officials are allowing violent protests to happen.

“The Portland Police Bureau has completely abandoned several blocks outside the ICE facility giving away their jurisdiction to a terrorist group who has spent the past four months harassing, assaulting, and intimidating anyone they perceive to be against their cause,” said Daviscourt.

KATU has had reporters on scene every night for the last week, monitoring the situation. On Tuesday, Portland Police blocked off the city block surrounding the ICE facility.

Daviscourt claimed that other media sources were not covering the protests outside the ICE facility and that residents are asking for help from the federal government.

“Residents living across the ICE facility have been held hostage by Antifa. They’re begging for federal intervention. The city refuses to help and they want you, President Trump, to come in and restore law and order,” said Daviscourt.

Portlanders React

KATU spoke with people outside the ICE facility on Wednesday following President Trump’s claims that people protesting outside the facility are domestic terrorists.

“I don’t think that there are any terrorists here. I think it’s a bunch of people that are, there’s some people expressing with a sign peacefully,” said Sofia Deyanira. “To me, that’s just Portland. This is just a slice of Portland. It’s people expressing themselves in a way that’s peaceful. You know in 2020 I know there was a lot of protests but I haven’t seen that here. Now this year.”

When asked if she was part of Antifa or a domestic terrorist organization, Deyanira said no. She said she was a mom with three kids who go to school in Lake Oswego.

“I was out here a weekend ago with my kids at Spaghetti Factory, and we walked along the waterfront. I didn’t bring them here, but we drove by, and there was nothing happening. So I came out today because I heard that, you know, Kristi Noem was here, and so I checked it out, and here I am,” said Deyanira.

Meanwhile, another person outside the facility said that Antifa is not an organized terror group; it is a phrase describing anti-fascism.

“There is no such thing. I don’t know why people are not understanding that it is completely ridiculous. It just stands for anti-fascist. That’s it. There’s no organized group. George Soros isn’t paying people,” said Ria Tsinas.

Neither Tsinas nor Deyanira described themselves as protesters. Tsinas said she was “loitering” outside the facility, supporting those who were protesting.

“It’s a descriptor of people but it doesn’t have any it’s not actually an organized group. It’s a philosophy. It’s a shared understanding but not an organized um, you know, ‘Let’s get together and terrorize and burn s**t down,” said Tsinas
