“Your call for ‘a disarmed and disarming peace,’ your urgent appeal to end war, and your emphasis on placing life, dialogue, and disarmament at the heart of our global priorities resonate profoundly with our mission and values,” the letter reads. “We are especially moved by your recognition that AI stands among the defining challenges of our time.”

The letter, drafted by an inter-faith group of members of the Campaign, notes that AI presents profound ethical, social, and spiritual dilemmas. “Your voice offers crucial moral clarity at a time when technology is advancing far more quickly than our collective ability to govern its use responsibly,” the letter reads. “Your firm conviction that sustainable peace is rooted not in domination or deterrence, but in diplomacy and political will, speaks directly to the urgent choices now facing humanity.”

The letter also expressed concern about the dangerous and growing reliance on powerful and sophisticated weaponry. “A world striving toward maturity must recognize the oneness of humankind and, with resolve, establish the institutions and systems that embody this foundational principle,” the letter reads. “This is a moral challenge that transcends religious boundaries and speaks to our shared human destiny.”
