1. As an Australian, I notice when I travel through the national airport there are advertisements for expensive fighter jets.

   The sponsors of sport are often “sin” products that are – in the medium term – on the list for tighter regulation or even banning.

   People who get honours usually have people campaigning for them, often for years. Perhaps there is a groundswell of opinion in their favour. But perhaps the campaign is defensive in intent, designed to make it harder to accuse them of wrongdoing; to create hostages of previous supporters; and to have people who understand that some of their income is under threat. Obviously those considerations would apply just as much to those giving out the honours as to those campaigning for them.

3. The combination of people with honours who are also convicted sex offenders can’t be a _massive_ pool. Are there any left for him to strip the honours from?

4. Whats your point here? Are you thinking anything of their length of service.

5. Oh please, of course the monarch who’s has 2 or so years is gonna do less than one who’s had one of the longest reigns of all

7. They just sign off what the civil servants put forward. They do t make these decisions themselves.
