Naqibullah Rezaei, of no fixed abode, was due before Worcester Magistrates’ Court on Thursday morning (October 9).

However, the case was adjourned for legal reasons and will now be heard before a district judge in Kidderminster.

It is alleged that on August 9, Rezaei attempted to arrive in the United Kingdom without a valid entry clearance, contrary to the Immigration Act 1971 and the Criminal Attempts Act 1981.

On the same date, Rezaei is also accused of piloting a small boat containing 37 migrants from France through the channel and into UK territorial waters in breach of immigration law.

The legal advisor adjourned the case using her delegated powers and the case will now be heard before District Judge Ian Strongman at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on December 1.
